In science this term, students are beginning to plant out our planter boxes. Students are organising and landscaping their winter vegetable garden. The vegetable garden and chook sheds are a valuable teaching and learning spaces where students learn practical skills and begin observations of key ecosystem processes, life cycles, nutrient, and water cycling. Having a vegetable garden at the school is a great way to engage all the students and the community in physical activity, awakening their curiosity of how things grow, challenging them to try different foods and teaching responsibility.
Thank you to Bunnings Wonthaggi who have generously donated the planter boxes to the school.
